Take Action for Black Lives in Honduras
On the morning of Saturday, July 18, four leaders from the Afro-descendant Garifuna community of Triunfo de la Cruz were kidnapped by men in bulletproof vests. This is just the latest violent and racist attack on the Garifuna, following after the recent murder Edwin Fernandez as he was providing COVID-19 relief.
- The immediate return of the Garifuna leaders, alive and healthy
- Compliance with the sentence of the Interamerican Court (Caso Triunfo)
- That the Honduran state – and by extension its supporters, including the United States – guarantee the security and protection of the members of the community of Triunfo de la Cruz
In recent weeks we’ve seen the power of solidarity. Your solidarity can make a profound difference here today. Add your voice to protect Black lives in Honduras.
