Support Civil Society in Palestine Against Raids
Israeli military forces conducted an early morning raid of the Ramallah office of Stop the Wall, a Grassroots International partner and a civil society organization organizing in opposition to the construction of the Separation Wall.
Following the 1:30 a.m.-raid on Tuesday, May 8th, Stop the Wall staff arrived in their office to discover damaged property along with missing hard drives, laptops, memory cards, and materials. While commenting on Tuesday’s raid, Stop the Wall staff expressed concern that “the real problem are not the few computers. It’s that this is likely the start of something more serious, if we don’t act more strongly now!”
Despite increasing attacks against demonstrators opposing the Separation Wall across the West Bank, Palestinian activists and organizations remain resolute in their defense of their rights to land, water, food and the right to live in dignity. They are asking for international solidarity:
We once again call upon you to support us by:
Spreading the news and publicly express your support to Stop the Wall and our work in the media available to you (and please let us know you did so!)
Encouraging your representatives and governments to condemn and report this further repression of civil resistance and human rights defenders organizations.
Let Israel know that their walls cannot isolate anybody!
Join us in calling on the US Embassy to voice their opposition to intimidation, raids and arrests of Palestinian civil society members, including Stop the Wall.
